1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Math Mastery ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Math Mastery provides an online educational platform for students in grades K-5 to practice mathematics skills including multiplication, addition, and subtraction. The Service includes:

• Free tier with ad-supported access to all core features
• Premium tier with ad-free experience and additional features (coming soon)
• Progress tracking and performance analytics
• Common Core-aligned practice questions

3. User Accounts and Data

3.1 Free Version

The free version of Math Mastery stores all student data locally in your web browser using localStorage. This means:

• We do not collect or store any personal information on our servers
• Student names and progress data remain on your device only
• Clearing your browser data will delete all student progress
• No account creation is required

3.2 Premium Version (Coming Soon)

When the premium version launches, subscribers will be able to create accounts for cloud sync and additional features. Separate terms will apply.

4. Appropriate Use

You agree to use Math Mastery only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disable the Service
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

5. Children's Use and COPPA Compliance

Math Mastery is designed for students in grades K-5, which includes children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

• The free version requires NO personal information from children
• All data is stored locally on the user's device
• Parents/guardians must supervise use by children under 13
• We display only family-safe, age-appropriate advertisements
• Premium accounts (when available) must be created by parents/guardians 18+

6. Advertising

The free version of Math Mastery is supported by advertisements served by Google AdSense. These ads:

• Are family-safe and screened for age-appropriateness
• May use cookies for ad personalization (users can opt out)
• Do NOT appear during active practice or quiz sessions
• Can be removed by upgrading to Premium (when available)

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Math Mastery (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software) are owned by Math Mastery and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Math Mastery is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding:

• The accuracy or completeness of educational content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Specific educational outcomes or results
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers

Important: Math Mastery is a supplemental educational tool. It is not a substitute for comprehensive math education or professional tutoring.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Math Mastery shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or educational setbacks.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for the Service.

10. Premium Subscription Terms (When Available)

When the Premium tier launches:

• Subscriptions will auto-renew monthly or annually
• Cancellation may be done at any time
• Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis
• Pricing is subject to change with 30 days notice
• Payment processing will be handled securely by Stripe

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Free Version: All data is stored locally on your device. To delete all data, clear your browser's localStorage or use your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature.

Premium Version (When Available): Users will be able to request data deletion at any time. Data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of account closure.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Material changes will be communicated via email (for Premium subscribers) or notice on the website.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to breach of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16. Severability

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Math Mastery regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
